Founded in Guangzhou in 2015 by He Xiaofeng, Xiaofeng Pictures (小疯映画) is the studio behind Scissor Seven, the hairdresser-assassin who won over Netflix.
History
Guangzhou Xiaofeng Culture Communication was founded on 19 June 2015 by He Weifeng, known as He Xiaofeng, already known for his comic shorts online. The studio took the English name Sharefun Studio.
In 2018 it launched Scissor Seven (刺客伍六七), a 2D series about an amnesiac assassin who runs a hair salon. Picked up by Netflix, it has had several seasons and films, such as The Strongest Hairdresser (伍六七之最强发型师) and Memory Fragments (伍六七之记忆碎片).
The studio also helps on other productions, such as The Legend of Luo Xiaohei 2 and Nobody (浪浪山小妖怪). In 2026 it launched Lele Convenience Store (乐乐便利店), a new original series.
Signature
Xiaofeng Pictures mixes very Cantonese absurd humour, punchy kung-fu-inspired fights and unexpected emotional moments. Its art is simple and colourful, but the fight choreography is remarkably precise.
