Power system
Power systems
In xianxia and xuanhuan, power is measured in ranks: every hero climbs a ladder of levels, from humble disciple all the way to the gods. Each franchise has its own. Here are the power systems of the great donghua, rank by rank, with their Chinese names and what they change for the characters.
- 斗罗大陆Soul Land11 ranks, from Spirit Scholar to God
- 斗破苍穹Battle Through the Heavens11 ranks, from Dou Zhi Qi to Dou Di
- 凡人修仙传A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality13 ranks, from Qi Refining to Dao Ancestor
- 仙逆Renegade Immortal14 ranks, from Qi Condensation to Heaven Trampling
- 完美世界Perfect World17 ranks, from Blood Shifting to Immortal Emperor
- 遮天Shrouding the Heavens10 ranks, from Wheel Sea to Great Emperor
- 诡秘之主Lord of Mysteries10 ranks, from Seer to The Fool
- 武动乾坤Martial Universe10 ranks, from Body Tempering to Ancestral Realm
Why so many levels?
Cultivation novels are published chapter by chapter for years. A long ladder of ranks gives readers clear goals: every breakthrough is a reward, and every new rank opens a wider world with stronger enemies. Many of these systems borrow the vocabulary of Taoist inner alchemy, such as the golden core or the nascent soul.
