Set up in Changsha by comics publisher Angel Culture, Shenman Culture (神漫文化) animates Throne of Seal, The Demon Hunter and Slay the Gods.
History
Shenman Culture was founded by Changsha Angel Culture (长沙天使文化), the leading comics publisher in central China. Since 2012 Angel Culture has published Shenman (神漫) magazine, which specialises in manhua based on web novels such as Soul Land 2 and Throne of Seal.
The studio started with more modest series, such as Di Ling Qu (地灵曲, 2017), and with motion comics. It then specialised in xuanhuan, with around a hundred licences in reserve thanks to its parent company.
In 2022 it launched Throne of Seal (神印王座) for Tencent Video, based on Tang Jia San. The Demon Hunter (沧元图) followed in 2023 for Youku, then Slay the Gods (斩神之凡尘神域) in 2024, which became one of the most popular donghua of the moment.
Signature
Shenman takes an end-to-end approach: the same group publishes the novel, the manhua and then the animated series. Its 3D series favour charismatic heroes and action, with a fast pace designed for fans of the source works.
