Founded in Shanghai in 2013 by Li Haoling, Haoliners (绘梦动画) is one of donghua's most prolific studios and the most Japan-facing.
History
Haoliners, officially Shanghai Huijie Culture Communication (上海绘界文化传播有限公司), was founded in 2013 by director Li Haoling, who became its CEO. The studio first produced short web series such as Mantou Diary, To Be Hero and Spiritpact.
In October 2015, to break into the Japanese market, it opened a subsidiary in Japan, Emon (絵夢株式会社), whose executive director was Shoji Murahama, founder of the GONZO studio. Many series then aired in Japan, such as The Outcast.
Haoliners went on to take part in some of the biggest recent donghua: The Daily Life of the Immortal King, Heaven Official's Blessing, Fairies Album and Link Click, made with Studio LAN.
Signature
Haoliners is known for a style close to Japanese anime: polished 2D, dynamic staging, memorable music. The studio favours Sino-Japanese co-productions and adaptations of novels with strong fan communities.
