Romance donghua: the most beautiful love stories

Romance runs through many donghua, usually mixed with another genre: xianxia, fantasy or mystery. It takes very different forms, from impossible love between a hero and a demon girl to a ghost king's eight centuries of devotion to a fallen god.

The adaptations of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, Mo Dao Zu Shi and Heaven Official's Blessing, are the most famous, both from danmei. Jade Dynasty offers a tragic love triangle, and Fairies Album a gentle melancholy.
