The prodigy of Battle Through the HeavensBorn in 1989 in Sichuan, Li Hu, known as Tian Can Tu Dou, was not yet twenty when he began Battle Through the Heavens, one of the most-read online novels in history.
Career
In April 2008, Li Hu published his first novel on Qidian, Mo Shou Jian Sheng Yi Jie Zong Heng (魔兽剑圣异界纵横), and signed with the platform the following month.
In April 2009 he launched Battle Through the Heavens (斗破苍穹). The novel passed 140 million clicks on Qidian and made him a "platinum" author that same year. Martial Universe (武动乾坤), The Great Ruler (大主宰), Yuan Zun (元尊) and Wan Xiang Zhi Wang (万相之王) followed.
He ranked third among the best-paid online writers in 2014, entered the Chenggua online literature awards' Hall of Fame in 2018 and became vice-chair of the Zhejiang Online Writers Association.
Style and themes
Tian Can Tu Dou set the codes of modern xuanhuan: a humiliated hero who takes his revenge, a hidden mentor (old Yao in a ring), heavenly flames to collect and ever-stronger enemies. His writing goes straight to the point and favours pace.
