Reception and success
The novel was one of Qidian's most-read titles in the late 2000s, and it helped make I Eat Tomatoes one of China's most popular authors.
Trivia
- The novel and Coiling Dragon share the same universe.
- It was written in under a year.
My take
A fast, effective novel, shorter than many of its successors. The best way to read the passages the donghua summarised.
