His power lets him know how the twelve hours after a photo unfold, and pass that information to Cheng Xiaoshi while he acts in the past. He sets each mission's goals and watches for his partner's slip-ups.

History

Lu Guang set up the studio with Cheng Xiaoshi to help clients clear up their memories. Mission after mission, he discovers that their powers, and those who know about them, are tied far more closely to their own past than he thought. Season 2 explores his story in much greater depth.

Relationships

Cheng Xiaoshi is his partner, his friend and the person he protects most. Qiao Ling, who handles the studio's clients, is the third piece of their trio.

Key moments

  • His disagreements with his partner when the latter wants to change the past.
  • The revelations of season 2, which shed light on his past.

In the adaptations

In the donghua, his composure and quiet voice contrast perfectly with Cheng Xiaoshi. The Japanese live-action adaptation transposed the duo to a Japanese setting.

  • Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are one of the most popular donghua duos outside China.

Our take

Lu Guang is a character with hidden depths, whose every silence ends up mattering. Season 2 rewards those who paid attention to what he left unsaid.
